Japan 2015 : Part 2 of 7 | Tsukiji Fish Market : Odaiba

*previously from HERE

Day 2 : April 13th, 2015

Received tips from friend, we started our day in Tokyo leisurely after 09:00am as we did not want to involve in the rush hour period of people going to work and school etc.

Our first destination today was the Tsukiji Fish Market. It's said to be the busiest tuna auction sell but you need to be there at 05:00 in the morning. We just skipped that auction and simply went there when everything had settled down a bit but still have few small buy and sell process going on. It’s raining quite heavily, so please ignore the present of umbrella in the pictures, hahaha.

Lots of Seafood choices

People queuing for breakfast
We did not plan to go inside the Tokyo Disney Resort, but just to mark our foot print there, we took a monorail tour around the resort for the sake of ‘I’ve been there, I’d done that’, haha. Unfortunately the rain become a lot heavier, so not much to see from inside the train.

We proceed to spend our afternoon in Odaiba, a man made island in Tokyo, which is a popular shopping and entertainment district. Most of the attraction are indoor, so less affected by rain.

I had been to Tussauds Sydney, so just want to see any different with Tokyo. Unfortunately, for me Sydney is better.

Nightfall came, so off we back to hotel and rest for the day.

Japan 2015 : Part 1 of 7 | Asakusa : Akihabara : Tokyo Skytree

previously from HERE

As my MAS flight started from Singapore, I as well need to transit here and there. So freaking messy but that’s the only choice that I had that time. On the day of 11th of April, took taxi from my home to KL Sentral, then Skybus to KLIA2.

Arrived in Changi Airport at 03:40pm with AirAsia flight AK 715, and meet my friend Adit, there. Together we checked-in for MAS flight, and flew with MH 610 for transit in KL. Sharp at 11:30pm, boarded the MH 88 and off we go to Tokyo.

Day 1 : April 12th, 2015

At 07:20am, landed in Narita Airport Terminal 2. Quickly disembark the aircraft and proceed to immigration. Unfortunately, there were about 4 or 5 flights arrived at the same time from all over continent, so that process took almost hour and a half queuing.

Proceed to Narita train station, bought the Tokyo Subway Ticket for 3-days (Toei & Metro Line) and also personal SuICa prepaid card for other usage. Actually after a lot of studies, did not apply the JR Pass as it will cost more after all calculations.

Subway Tix 3-days

Ride the train to Kuramae Station, and walk to our hotel, Kuramae Hotel in Kuramae, Asakusa. As it was still early about 10:30am, left our big backpack at the concierge as the check-in process can only be done after 03:00pm.
Narita Terminal 2 Station
Went to Asakusa, with only 1 subway station ahead, and sight-seeing the area.

After came out from the Kaminarimon Gate, went to the Tokyo Imperial Palace. Apparently the road circling the East Garden was closed to any motor vehicle on Sunday, only bicycles were allowed to encourage citizens to exercise with family and friends.

Only cyclist are allowed

Done with the Imperial Palace East Garden tour (I did not see any castle or palace here, hahahahahahha), straight away went to Akihabara area.

From Akiba, went to Oshiage, to stroll up the tallest building in Japan, the Tokyo Skytree.

As it was already dark, went back to hotel, finished the check-in process, and rest, preparing for the next day course.

Japan 2015 | Intro

Salam,

As this will be my first post-trip, apologize for any mistake and error :) . Too many things happened after the trip and very busy so no time to write. heheh

Ok2, as a starter. Last April, went for a full week to ‘Negara Matahari Terbit’ (Japan) with 1 of my colleague from Jakarta. Basically we managed to ‘jalan2’ at Tokyo in Kanto region, together with Kyoto and Osaka in Kansai region. We spend 3 nights in Tokyo, 2 nights in Kyoto and another 2 nights in Osaka before flying home.

We flew from Singapore to Tokyo (Transit in KL), and back from Osaka to Singapore with MAS, bought last year in June. During that booking time, direct flight from KL cost almost double, woooooo...

Malaysia Airlines : SIN-KUL-NRT / KIX-KUL-SIN

AirAsia : KUL-SIN-KUL

As I actually can just end my journey at KL (no need transit on the way back), somewhere in Kyoto received a call from boss, being ordered to go to Singapore, so say no more.

Fortunately when transit in KLIA, met with university ex-housemate in front of the boarding gate. He was flying to Paris for a stop by and continues with a conference at Geneva. I think our last meeting was about 4 years back? hahahaha…

with Naim @ KLIA

My Japan 2015 trip will be in total of 7 parts, corresponding to total of 7 full days there.

Currency exchange at that time can consider quite high, don’t remember, maybe about MYR 3.10 for each JPY 100.

I will write a review for our accommodation in Japan in separate post, and also another one with total expenses for the whole trip.

Tuesday

Assalamualaikum...

Haaa, suddenly I have a blog. Damn it, Congratulations!! Before this always made myself busy with reading others' blog, so why not write my own, 'kan'....

Family n friends call me Am@Zam...My hobby? Of course 'la' to travel...And my humble ambition is definitely to see other places a.k.a the world...So I'll try to dedicate this blog to my travelling life...If suddenly 'ada' friend 'yang' invite me to join the team going somewhere, InsyaAllah I'll try to make it even though with  my busy work-life and tight schedule.

* My leave always not enough :( *

I noticed that almost everybody enjoyed reading Malay's blog, but me myself am prefer to write in English (ignore all vocab and grammar mistake)...So, there will be some in my mother tongue, but mostly my posts will be in English or 'Malay-ish'..hahahaha

There were some who suggested to write blog, just for travelling, so that it can be a draft guide to other, but for me this is really for my 'suka-suka' and for my family eye-cleansing...

Hopefully I will have the spirit to do this. InsyaAllah

Salam, stay tune.
